biography

Hannah Lang has given hundreds of recitals with pianist Peter Hewitt and with the Litmus Trio all over the UK and USA. With a fine understanding and great panache in performance she is highly sought after.

Hannah Lang's recital performances have taken her to festivals and music societies all around the UK and America. She is well known to flute players and enthusiasts worldwide having formerly been editor of Pan, the journal of the British Flute Society. This post brought her into contact with many of the world's greatest flute players for whom she also helped to organise conventions and recitals throughout the UK.

Hannah enjoys a combined career of performing, teaching and music administration. She has promoted concerts at major London venues including an extremely successful sell-out day of concerts at St. John's, Smith Square to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the death of JS Bach. She has been producer for several recording projects including Strauss' Enoch Arden, the first complete recording in English which attracted the accolade of Recommended Recording of Outstanding Quality for the LITmus label. In 2001 Hannah founded a successful artist management agency.

Hannah's many concerto performances have included the complete Mozart works for flute and orchestra as well as concerti by CPE Bach and works by Saint-Saëns and Georges Huë. She plays an open G# flute made by Louis Lot in 1890.
